Ohyescoolgreat is an Arnhem based independent studio for graphic design and education owned by Janneke de Rooij. The studio focuses on creative and innovative design for cultural and educational institutions. The work of Ohyescoolgreat entails the development of identities, workshop and exhibition design. Its strong point is it's experience with major design projects in which Ohyescoolgreat manages to bring all different ideas and messages into a strong graphic statement.
Janneke de Rooij achieved her BA in graphic design in 2008 at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. The same year she received a Mondriaan starting grant and founded Ohyescoolgreat together with Jeroen Sikma. She then continued studying at the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam, and received her master’s degree in 2011. In 2014 she started teaching design exploration at Willem de Kooning Academy and other educational institutes.
Janneke thrives in collaborations with different disciplines and people. She has initiated several social design projects, in which she worked closely together with journalists, photographers, computer programmers and filmmakers. In these projects she involves the public through workshops and social interventions in order to question stereotypical views and give free reign to alternative ideas about current social issues. Janneke is now working on the project 'Act for Liberty' in collaboration with Aldus' productions.
